The character Rick is a mechanic, a jokester and technical wizard. I really had quite a bit of fun with Rick. He was always a car guy, a wheelman, and looks after Buck’s 2013 Mustang. Near genius. Trained as a mechanical engineer he left Google to open his own luxury-mod garage, specializing in muscle cars.
Rick Aitken is the name of one of my best friends in high school. He had crackling energy and wit, and he is memorialized in the character of Rick in the novels. After the first novel, he was such a great character that I wanted to expand his role, so he will return frequently. And his friend Candy is the same way…a really fun character to write. We will see more of both of them.
